{Carroll County, Maryland Child and Family Photographer} Life By Lens: April 2014

It’s time for our monthly blog post! Life by Lens is a project I’m participating in with a group of photographers from across the country. On the 20th of each month (or, in this case, the 21st) we post some personal pictures. With Easter falling on the 20th this year, I’ve decided to post some pictures of my girls in their Easter dresses, and a few snapshots from Easter.  After you’re finished with my post, make sure you check out Jeanine’s post over at pArt of Life Photography!  Click here to see it!

A couple days ago, I decided to take some pictures of the girls in their Easter dresses. I love that they’re old enough to be cooperative (most of the time, and with some bribery) and they do a great job. 🙂

We had a great Easter! The girls were so excited to look for their Easter baskets this morning. Clara has been asking for an Elsa doll for months.  We’re BIG Frozen fans here.  The Easter Bunny had a very hard time finding one at a reasonable price, but thanks to lots of Amazon stalking, he was able to. All the time spent was worth it for the look on her face! And Annabelle was pretty happy with her Anna doll and Olaf book.

We also went to my parents’ house for an Easter Egg hunt. The kids all played together and had a great time. And I know my grandfather had a great time watching them all.

Every year, my grandmother makes Easter shaped Jello Jigglers.  With the leftovers, she always plays a game with the kids (my cousins and me when we were little, and now, our children) where the kids have to decide what the shape looks like.  They come up with some hilarious ideas.  Dinosaurs, dogs (apparently a new breed, called German Retriever, to be specific), letters, etc.  It’s a fun tradition and the kids really love it…and so does my grandmother!
