Newborn Session Info

Photographing newborns is my favorite part of family photography. I absolutely love spending time with those sweet babies and capturing this fleeting phase.

I recommend taking newborn photos when your baby is between 1-3 weeks old, though we can certainly wait a little longer if that’s what works best for your family.

I offer three options for newborn sessions. Read a description about each one below, and please email me at joannarobbinphotography@gmail.com with any questions and for a complete price list for newborn sessions and packages.

Full Posed Newborn Session

*Most popular*

Full newborn sessions take place in my home studio in Eldersburg and generally last 2-3 hours, but because each baby (and his/her needs) is unique, I don’t stick to a strict time frame. I am extremely patient with newborns and try to make this experience as stress-free as possible.

I begin the session with posed family and sibling shots, and end with baby’s solo portraits. I will do a mix of poses but can’t guarantee any particular pose with any particular baby. I always follow your baby’s lead.

Wrapped Mini Posed Newborn Session

For posed pictures of just your little one, this 60-90 minute mini session in my home studio may be a better fit. Your baby will be wrapped the entire time. Newborns love being wrapped up, and it keeps them nice and settled, which helps us get the best selection of photos within the mini session time frame.

You can add photos with family or siblings for $75.

Lifestyle Newborn Session

Lifestyle sessions take place in your home and last about 90 minutes. These sessions are generally more relaxed and less formal. They’re all about capturing your life as it is right now with your newborn, even if it’s a bit chaotic!

I’m happy to include older siblings and pets, and try to spend the bulk of my time in the baby’s nursery and rooms with the best natural light.
