{Baltimore, Maryland Child Photography} Life by Lens: Color

This month, our blogging group decided to do color as a theme. We each interpreted it differently, but I decided to try to incorporate the colors of spring. After what felt like a never-ending winter, spring is finally, slowly creeping its way in…though it’s still not quite as warm as I’d like! I’ve been dying to go to the Cylburn Arboretum in Northwest Baltimore.  The day of this shoot was kind of a disaster…there was a huge thunderstorm, so it was ridiculously muddy, and my 3 year old, who isn’t very outdoorsy (she comes by that honestly. I can’t really blame her) refused to walk anywhere there was mud, which, of course was everywhere.   We got there 25 minutes before they close and, being the first time I had ever been there, I didn’t really know where to go.  I would’ve loved to have some time to wander around, but it wasn’t in the cards this evening.   So I was rushed, dealing with semi-grumpy kids and lots of mud.  I managed to get a few shots that I like, and even this one which is my current favorite of my girls together.

My 19 month old is extremely difficult to get good pictures of these days.  She’s too young to be bribed, but old enough that she knows she’s not doing what she wants to do.   The fact that she’s smiling and looking at the camera is kind of a miracle!

Clara, my 3 year old, is a bit more cooperative, if only because she understands the magic of bribery.
